MANAGEMENT
Jardines is presently managed by Susan Botelho, Restaurant Manager and
Wedding Coordinator . But no one alone
can take credit for the operation of Jardines, it takes the hard work
and efforts of a lot of people, like Lizzette Ortiz, Nicolas Solis, and
Pablo Garcia, these shift leaders along with the rest of our team work
very hard and always meet the challenges put forth; many thanks to all
of them.
Susan
Botelho has spent most of her working career in the restaurant business.
The last 18 of those years, here at Jardines. She has worked all areas
of this business, but her expertise is Banquets and Weddings. Her on
going commitment to provide professional service and keep up with all
the newest trends has never diminished. You can rest assured she will be
attending to all the important details on that very special day.
Our goal
is to always provide that high quality entree in a clean enjoyable
atmosphere, and have it served with a smile.

OWNERSHIP
Jardines Restaurant
has always been owned by Manuel and Alice Santana of Aptos, Ca. With
Manuel's love for fine Mexican Cuisine and art and Alice's talents for
business, they decided to open a little restaurant in Aptos, Ca. called "Manuel's".
It didn't take long to figure out that their love for fine Mexican
Cuisine and bold display of elaborate colors were enjoyed by many.
After 5 years of successfully operating "Manuel's",
they purchased an old movie theater in San Juan Bautista, Ca. and after
a lot of hard work on the old buildings and grounds, they opened
Jardines de San Juan in 1977. The restaurants have never changed
ownership and have always been owned and operated by the Santana Family.

EMPLOYMENT
Jardines

We hire for: cooks, dishwashers, bussers, bartenders, servers and
host(ess). We hire year round but most of our hiring is done between
April thru October. This is our busy season. Jardines has always had a
large number of long time employees, getting a server position at the
time of hire is sometimes very difficult because we usually hire from
with in our establishment, and its usually busboys or bartenders who
have requested server positions.

We have
often been told by present and former employees that Jardines is a fun
place to work at, and we believe this to be true. We do demand a lot of
our staff and we have strict rules and policies to follow, but this does
not mean we can't have fun while working. A happy team member is usually
a good worker, and customers love to see a smile on a person.
